F-Secure Blocks the Most Malware in AV-Comparatives Test
Helsinki, Finland - F-Secure has achieved a 99.2% protection rate and the best possible Advanced+ certification for its security product in the latest Whole-Product Dynamic Test carried out by AV-Comparatives. F-Secure Internet Security 2011 scored consistently well throughout the four tests which AV-Comparatives carried out in the period March - June 2011 against a changing set of real-world threats.
The Whole-Product Dynamic Test measured the number of malware blocked by the antivirus software, the number of times the software was compromised, and the number of clean websites or files wrongly blocked. F-Secure blocked the most malware from all the security vendors and also had a significantly lower level of false positive than the industry average.
Mika Stahlberg, VP F-Secure Labs, says, “Security products should be as automatic as possible and not bother the user with complex questions. F-Secure’s excellent results in the Whole Product Dynamic Test are therefore particularly satisfying because this test mimics real-world conditions and user behavior. We have once again proved that F-Secure is a leader in the quality of its protection, both in terms of powerful malware detection and a low level of false positives.”
AV-Comparatives is an Austrian non-profit organization providing independent antivirus software tests free to the public. It is one of the major independent testing organizations in the industry and conducts regular tests of the world’s leading antivirus software.
